Mutuals are non-profit societies organizing solidarity between their members, and whose funds come mainly from their subscriptions. They have a role above all, social and as such, are part of the social and solidarity economy. The role of a mutual health insurance company is to cover all or part of the healthcare costs not covered by Health Insurance. In return for a contribution, the members of the mutual health insurance are reimbursed for their health costs up to the level of guarantees subscribed.
