With an estimated coastal area of more than 550 km, fishing in the Ivory Coast is one of the sensitive sectors of the economy (3.1% of agricultural GDP). In addition to the 2 ports for industrial fishing, many landing stages and markets are dedicated to artisanal and maritime fishing. There are also several freshwater areas for recreational or tourist fishing.
